I would like to see your backyards ranges and equipment etc. I am still working on mine I have target stands from 25 to 276 yards and have about 300 more yards distance to work with. I have one two shooter bench built and need to build one more at a different angle to get out to 550 or 600 yards. I am interested in seeing what others have done for ideas to make mine better.
I will try to post some pictures in a few.
Sincerely,
AL

I wish I had a backyard like that! I live bordering BLM land, but some neighbors would I'm sure take offense if I was banging away at a home setup range! No worries for me though, as not more than 3 miles away in a secluded steep-walled canyon, there is a range with berms from 100-500 yards, every 100 yards, and one at 1000. I haven't fully taken advantage of this setup, although I've shot to 400 yards many years ago on other private property. I mainly occupy the 100 yard berm for load development.
As I'm sure you can imagine, at an unmanned range such as this, if someone is shooting at the 100 yard berm, you can't shoot at the longer range berms. Even if you want to shoot at the 400 yard berm, chances are someone will drive right up and park on the 100 yard berm and end your session. I'll try to get some pics of the setup.
Velocityaddict - please downsize your pic's so they don't blow the thread off the screen. Thanks.

I expanded my range this year. I had a 4x8 plywood target but I enlarged the berm to hold 24'plus of target frames. I built a 8x 24' covered shooting shed at 100 yards and 50 yard shooting bench. I can shoot from a pond levee for 275 yards, from another pasture at 400 yards and 600plus yards from my back porch. Of course I can not hit a target well at that range but I did give a coyote a run for the money early one Sunday when he walked out in front of my berm. I ran inside and got my AR and dusted up all around him but did not score. Here are some pictures of the construction and range.

I'll try and get some pics. I borught my bench all the way from AK. I made a cut in the hill on the back side of my property on the boundry of the National Forrest and I still have to build a shelder over the bench.

This is a look down the range from the shooting bench. From the bench to end of the range is a measured 325 yards and is marked at 100, 200 and 325 yards...
I made a "holder" and placed it at the 325 yard mark that holds clay pidgeons up on their edge. With my wife's 240 Weatherby Magnum that I built for her, it's easy to shoot and explode them at that distance. If you look at the very far end of the range at the "tree" that's got some of the ground shaded, that's our 325 yard marker and where I have the clay pidgeon holder at...
The two metal posts on the right hand side are the 100 and 200 yard markers...

The size of the bench is 34" wide X 5 ft. long. The black textured "finish" is a rubberized truck bed paint. After placing 10 coats on the top and sides, I kinda think that this should last for a few years out in the Oklahoma weather....

That bench is cool will do the same with mine. It already has weathering to it. a cover will be next and range markers. This was what I was looking for good ideas.
