Get a tape or electronic call of fawn or rabbit in distress. Around here the meat eaters will come quickly. For raccon play the racoon fight. The racoons will come in at the run looking for a fight.

If your calling I usually call longer for bobcats than I do for coyotes. 15 or 20 minutes for coyotes where I'll call 30 minutes plus for cats. Cats seem to come in slower for me. I'll call in 20 coyotes for every bobcat I call in.

Here's a good place to check for tips on cat calling.

faucettb is completely right re. the cats being slower to respond to a call. This has been my expierance calling in Maine and Fla.

They love to sneek in very slowly. Call for a minimum of 20-25 minutes. If you feel good about the area 30 would be even better. They will move in a little and sit down to watch. I have seen them sit for 15 minutes.

I have also seen them appear on the edge of a rather large clearcut and it took them almost a hour to cover 500yds down the edge.

Make sure to start your calling very low also. Increase volume as necessary. Try a "dieing" anything. Woodpecker, chicken, coon pups, domestic cat(kittens) all work. Crow in distress works great also.

Good luck.
