Shooting at little bitty targets at the range sure pays dividends when drawing down on an unwelcome critter. The crows weren't too happy and sure pitched a fit when I shot two of their buddies. I nailed them both from about 220 yards leaning over the hood of my pick-up, one on the ground and the other in a tree. After number two hit the ground they wouldn't land. They make a heck of a racket from the very first light of day and keep it up until dark. Maybe the other five will vacate for a few days and we won't be awakened at 4:30.

Flash I was wondering how you were doing with that new fireball. I was out a couple of days ago with the 204, but no coyotes, crows or magpies showed up to test it. I like your signature line.

It has turned out to be a real shooter and it really likes the 40 gain Sierra BlitzKing and Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets. both IMR4198 and RE-7 work real well. This small case really benefits from flash hole uniforming and mild primers.
Lots of crows around but I've yet to see a coyote.

Crows are a hoot to shoot. Here in the south we do not have prairie dogs or wood chucks but we have a heck of a lot of crows. I have a good place where I can sit up on the side of a hill and shoot them down on the ground out to about 300 yards. From that distance with a 223 they don't know what hit them. They just know that the crow sitting next to them exploded. Must have been something he ate.

I had to chuckle at that one.
Those crows sure do get excited when one of them goes down. Kind of unique among the varmints like that; you sure don't see all the sage rats running over to gawk at the remains of their buddy you just shot.
