So I gave in and bought a G30. :D Soon as I get a few hundred rounds through it it will accompany me as a CCW. Do you have any holster recomendations for this pistol. Mostlikely I will be purchaseing an IWB. But I have not bought any in a while so I am looking for recomendations. Right know I have 230g Remington Golden Sabers +P and 230g gold dots which would you carry in this gun? I am also thinking about trying out the 200g Gold Dots. Personaly i preffer Gold Dots Ive just always had a good experence with them.

I have three of them and in my opinion, these are the best holsters on the market. I carry my 1911s in them and also have one for my G30. They aren't cheap and the you will probably have to wait awhile for delivery. You'll find these holsters are well worth the $$ and the wait!

The factory stated velocity for the Rem. 230 GS is 875fps.
For the 200gr. Speer GD +P, it is 1080 fps.

Is that the 8 shot version?

been looking myself....Just cannot get past the trigger and all the AD's you hear about w/ Glock.

I have a young man in my Fire department that is currently going thru a NJ police academy. He is familiar with firearms, and proficient, so I am not speaking of him directly. his instructor spoke to his class just before firearms training and told the class that there has bee 15 AD's with Glocks in 3 years at that academy!!!!

I questioned him on the fact [to me] it sounds like there's improper training going on for so many AD's, but he says they are stressing safety to the utmost.

Now this not meant to steal your thread, nor go off topic, just to put some info out for all of you guys.

Personally, I got rid of a G19 for the trigger issue [just did not care for it], and replaced it with an XD 9.

Good luck and please let us know your experiences and chrony results!

Best,

I would use the Gold Dots. As far as ADs, we have had three where I work since I started, one was a Glock, one a 1911 and one an AR-15. Poor safety is the cause of all, one was on a call, high stress levels, one was before cleaning the rifle. The 1911 was being put back on a belt after coming out of the jail and was fired during a press check.

No its the double stack 9/10/13 the standard is the 10 rounder with the pinkey extension. I dont care much for the factory glock trigger however I have shot a "bizillion" rounds through glocks and have no problems with them. They are easy to tune. The XD 9 is a good gun! I have fired them but for some reason I have a love hate relation ship with Glock.

As far as the velocities I do not curently have a crono if I ever get to use my buddies I will let you know, however glocks tend to shoot a little faster atleast in my experence, the barel is 3.78 inches and the velocities are not much diferent that 4 inch barrels. Check out brassfetcher.com they have a lot of data on several different calibers. Also remember modern HP ammo is not that of yesteryear its much more advanced and yes if the bullet just happens to not expand its going to have enough to get to the vitals and its already expanded. :D But remember this goes with all HP ammo.
