View Full Version : Forster Press Question

I'm still kicking around the question of which press to get on my new and (hopefully) improved reloading bench. I am sorely tempted by the Forster press ( I was terribly tempted by the Corbin press, too, but just can't justify the cost in my mind, despite the fact that it is one supreme piece of equipment). I am curious about changing the jaws on the Forster. How much of a pain is this? I read horror stories, but I thought I would ask the folks that know. Thanks.

This has been ask a bunch of times before Mykal. You might want to do a search on Forster Co-Ax presses. Most of the folks I know like the press and don't seem to have much trouble changing out the jaws.
Scroll to the bottom of this page and click on some of the same topics in the "Similar Threads" section. Will save a lot of repeating.

My vote goes to the Forster COAX. It's the Snap On of presses. Mine has seen I don't know how many rounds, from .222 to 300RUM and it's still just as tight as when it was new. I've had it for 30+ years. To me reloading equipment is like the tools I use at work. When you can afford the good stuff (Snap On) get it. Not only will you get a world of good out of, but so will your kids.
As for the nightmare jaw changes? I ain't afraid of no ghosts! It takes a few times to get a system going but after that, no problems.
