I just walked into a sporting goods shop and ran into a deal I just couldn't walk away from. A Browning Citori Upland Special. I was looking for a gun but I sure didnt plan on one this early, but I'm really happy with the gun.
20 ga 28" bbl invector plus choke tubes. The wood is quite nice and the engraving is pretty good with gold inlays. I guess everything today is computer lazer engraving and checkering and actually it is pretty good, certainly much better than lesser expensive guns of 30-40 years ago. (By lesser expensive I mean not inthe class of Holland & Holland or Purdy - like I can afford one of those).
I haven't hada chance to use it yet, range was closed on the weekend, and I am sure looking forward to it.
I was fairly familiar with Citori of 30 years ago and they were dependable and pleassant looking.
Does any one with more recent experience than I have with Browning Citoris any comments on this gun? I use it mainly for Grouse hunting, Ruffed and Blues, but enjoy Skeet and intend on doing Sporting Clays.
