I had no idea my little post about 444 would produce such responses.

Howard City, Michigan? I went to Ferris 1975-76 for the Welding Technology School. GI Bill paid my way. Many hunts in Manistee Nat'l Forest & Huron Nat'l Forest. But I headed back to Wyoming and finished up my Asso. Degree in Casper. From there, I went directly into Ironworker's Union and chased the petroleum industry throughout Oklahoma & Texas erecting tank farms.

By OCT 1978, I was bored with living in motels alongside drunken Ironworkers and headed back to Michigan to work for Dodge Truck in Warren, Michigan welding frames and bumper assemblies. I hated the mind numbing tedious work but my pretty girlfriend made it seem worthwhile. When the relationship ended, I packed up and headed west to northern California. That brings us to to 1979.

Enough of this history. I haven't been to Michigan in many years but I keep in touch with college friends who now live near Battle Creek.
