I have a 687 SP III which had rust setting up in the sweat joint at the monoblock as a result of a factory foul-up. The gun has been in the hands of Beretta gunsmiths FIVE times and it still has problems. Beretta will not replace the gun. They want to keep "fixing" it. I bought the gun about 18 mos ago. Every time I have to bring it in to my retailer to ship it to Beretta to "fix" it, it costs me about 3 weeks turnaround and two half days off of work...one half day to drop it off and another to pick it up. I have been very patient and tried to work with Beretta, but to no avail.

BEWARE BERETTA. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR GUNS!!!!!!!

Sounds like you joined our fine forum just to gripe. I'm wondering if you've done this to every shooting forum you could find just because your mad because you happened to get a lemon?

Be interesting to see if you hang around and join in on some of our discussions or just do this one post to vent and never come back. I'd hope that you do. I think all of us have had a lemon at one time or another. A gun, car, scope, or any consumer item. Sometimes the maker takes care of it sometimes they don't.

I usually welcome new members and ask that they join in and be nice. We've already covered the last part of that here so I'll withhold judgment to see if you are really interested in our great shooting, hunting and reloading discussions or are just another sour grapes consumer.

Yup - Posting a whining thread as a first timer is pretty bad form.

Sorry to hear of your problems with a particular firearm, but all manufacturers do produce a lemon from time to time. Other members should take this with a grain of salt.

Came across the same poster with the same thread over on shotgunworld. It ended up being quite a lengthy thread and pretty much covered all the options and opinions. Don't know what he hoped to accomplish here, but doubt he'll be back much, if at all. Greg
