I want to see if my old sight-less Marlin will even shoot after my backyard amateur gunsmith restoration job is finally complete and I can easily enough get a front sight, but I was wondering if my old Redfield receiver sight on my Model 94 will fit? I'd like to try that before buying a new one.
The sight is very much like the current Lyman brand.
I see that the Williams brand receiver sight is the same model number for both guns.

Send Brownell's tech section a note asking the same question. Give them the sight model and number if you have it and explain what you want to do. They may be able to answer your question.
Here's the link to their question section.

A 1967 Redfield cataolog shows the same receiver sight number (Micro-Steel #61002 ) for the Winchester 94 and the Marlin 336.

Thanks Jack.
You got the sight and the rifles; stick that sucker on there and see.
I've used the Williams sight on both and it works fine on both. There could be some little thing different with the Lyman but I bet it will work.
