Hi I am new to this forum I own a 9mm P-38 as well as a Colt Python 6" (my Favorite).
I have been reading the post & like all the Opions I have read, anyway My father-In-Law recently Passed away & when we were going thru his gun collection we came across several 50 Cartridge Boxes of .45 ball m1911 cartridges they are stamped TZZ 85, since we do not own any .45 we have no use for them does anyone have any suggestions as to what they are worth a box & were I could sell them since I have no use for them. I believe that TZZ Stands for Israeli Military Industries. They have been stored in the House in aan Army ammo case so I know they are fine. Any suggestions wold be great
Thanks
PM me if you would like

TZZ 85 is Israeli, made in 1985. There's a fair amount of it around, so collector's value is low. I'll say it's worth as much as the commercial mil-spec equivalent like Remington UMC hardball or the Winchester equivalent. You really should buy a 1911.

Since you've got all that TZZ ammo, I think it only right that you have a 1911 pistol to go with it. Makes sense to me.:D

For years I wanted a 1911 .45ACP but just couldn't justify one. Then I said whats to justify. I love my Kimber.

After the Army adopted the M9 pistol in 9mm the US Government production switched from 45 to 9mm. For the remaining 45 ammo we out sourced it to TZZ in Isreali. I've still got a bunch I bought surplus after the First Gulf War. As a side note I recieved 65 rounds from the Ammunition Supply Point here in Iraq in May that were dated TZZ 87. They all fired fine out of the 1916 dated Colt Government Model 1911 here. That ammo is pure US spec M1911 hardball ie, 230 gr FMJ at 830 fps.
