Was wondering if any one who knows a lot more about shotguns then I do could give me alist of chokes and there measurements please. Getting very confused with trap choke, game choke, cylinder, and all the rest and I can't seem to find a site that has the measurements for them so I can measure my pump action to see what choke it has. Also what is the narrowest choke you can shoot steel shot through with out doing damage to the barrel. Thanks.

I see adds over here for shot guns with a field choke but can not find it listed anywhere. Where would it sit in the range of chokes.

I am not familiar with "field choke" but interested. Perhaps someone with Double Gun Journal could shed some light on the question?

I've heard reference to a field choke. When I heard it, it was akin to a modified choke.

Could be different in your experience, but there is no "field choke" that I have ever heard of.....of course, that does not mean it does not exist....

Have investigated it some more and found that when they say field choke in an add it means that the gun is set up for field shooting. One barrel is full choke and the other is haalf os close to it. That's what I was told anyway.

I came upon this info from a fellow who has proven knowledgeable about such things over the years: "somewhere in the dark past chokes may have been referred to as woods choke, field choke and duck choke. This would roughly equate to IC, M and Full, in that order. " Reinforces what was said here about it probably being modified.
