Does anyone know of a factory loaded .32 long that lives up to advertised performance? I have chronied a few brands and the best velocity I've gotten is 575 fps from percision cartridge ammo. All the others are below 500fps. This kind of performance leaves these bullets performing below the level of the .25 auto. I'm shooting them out of an old US solid frame revolver with a 4 inch barrel. The gun was very lightly used when I got it and its a solid gun so I'm not concerned about shooting hotter ammo out of it.
Thanks

None of the factory loads that I've tried (at least not modern ammo) would get 700fps from a 4" barrel...would get 600 in most good guns. Haven't tried factory loads in a good while, and they might have slowed them down a bit.
Some of the older solid frames like the H&R's are nearly always a bit slower than others of the same length. Most have a bit over sized cylinder mouths, a large flash gap, and a wide deep forcing cone.
Am not one for hot-rod reloading of the little .32 as I don't use it for defense...do use it for fun and the occasionaly shot at small game (where it works so well, could live without a .22).
