Welcome to the forum Omer. Rules are simple, be nice and join in. You might read our FAQ's tab at the top of the page and some of the Stickies at the top of the general forum to get an idea of what were about.

I'm about as far as you can get from New York so can't help you with shooting ranges. I live out in Idaho and have to drive about a mile to get to my shooting range which is in an old Gravel pit just outside of town.

From my limited knowledge of New York City I understand gun ownership is a real PITA and can only imagine how hard it may be to find a place to shoot, unless your a criminal in which case there seems to be plenty of shooting going on there. I only visited there a couple of times when I was driving truck. The last time I had three bullet holes in my tractor when I left town. After that I just refused loads going anywhere near there.

Here's my shooting range. I live in the canyon about a mile below here.

Here's a buddy sighting in his 300 Ultra-mag prior to hunting season.

Sure hope you stay around and join in our conversations Omer. This is a great place for a young fella to talk to older fellas about shooting, reloading, hunting and all those rifle and handgun related subjects.

Again I'd like to say welcome.

Omer: Get a NYC yellow pages. Look under "Rifle and Pistol Ranges". There are a few. In Manhattan, West Side Rifle and Pistol on W. 20th St. In Queens, there's a range in Woodhaven. In Brooklyn, there's one in BayRidge.
I run one in Brooklyn at Metropolitan Rod and Gun Club; it is a club range; you'd need to be a member.
At 16, you are not going to be able to rent a pistol in NYC.

I think he's referring to the scissor jack that Bob uses for his rifle rest on his shooting bench. I think it's a pretty cool idea myself...
