I was curious as to how many of you have used a 10mm for hunting deer sized animals ?
If you wouldn't mind sharing your experiances with it and opinion on it preformance...
I have a Dan Wesson Razorback and was concidering taking it hunting with me in the fall whitetail woods

I have a Glock 20 with a OEM 6" bbl. I have put the 200gr WFN hardcast from Double Tap, thru several of the medium sized hogs and a couple of the Fla. sized deer.
One hog weighed 215lbs. The bullet(from 15yds) took him square on the shoulder(plate), shreaded the top part of both lungs(bone frag I suspect), and pulverized the off shoulder joint upon exit. I have never recoverd a single bullet made by Double Tap.
10mm's deserve the best and the hottest. If not..........you might as well shoot a .40 Short&Weak. -----pruhdlr

FYI, I'm pretty certain that 200gr WFN in the DoubleTap ammo is the Beartooth bullet, available here. If they aren't made by Beartooth, they sure look like the same thing. I've been meaning to try it in my Witness, but haven't got around to it yet.
+1 on driving the 10mm hot and fast, like it was designed for. The low powered stuff is just a waste of good brass.
Yes it is Beartooths bullet that Double Tap uses.
I purchas them from Beartooth for my 10mm's.
I was just out to the range yesterday with my G29 10mm I was shooting the Beartooth bullets and had to come back and post my thoughts.
I had a few failures to feed that really surprised me due to this gun never having failures like this...
I messed around with different holds on the grip (tighter/looser) then tried a slightly different load 1/2gr more Blue Dot powder.
After moving to this different load I did not have any more failures to feed.
Groups were great for the type of shooting I was doing which was basically animal defense style shooting (draw and fire at several different targets from 7 to 20 yards).
I was shooting as fast as I could squeeze the trigger.
None of my other loads 175gr semi-wadcutters, 180gr Gold Dot HP's and 200gr XTP's had any failures to feed.
The powders I was using were Tite-Group, Blue Dot & IMR800X...

yep, the bullets Mike McNett loads up for are from Marshalls brew pots. I too load with 800X-10grns., 200WFNGC Beartooth in my G20 6" KKM bbl. Never had a failure to feed of any kind thus far. The only 2 bullets I shoot out of mine is the 200XTP & 200WFNGC-for penetration only. :)

I'm really thinking about getting a couple other barrels for my Para 16-40, one being a 10MM, the other being a .357 Sig.
I like them both, as they have been severely overlooked and are true powerhouse cartridges.
