G'Day all, has any body out there had experience converting win 92 32-20 to 357 mag as we have found nothing works like an original 92.
I don't have any experience, but there were a bunch converted here in the 50s - 60s. If the 92 is a black powder gun, the locking lugs may set back in time, ruining the gun.

I don't really know that any Winchester 92's that were considered black powder guns although they might have been chambered for cartridges that started out as blackpowder loads......James
Once again, it is demonstrated that its dangerous for me to assume.;)
In theory, a 32-30 barrel could be re-bored to 357, but by the time you got it to feed correctly, you could probably "fix" a Rossie with less work.

I have one that belonged to mt father-in-law . My brother-in-law gave it to me .
Have only shot it once , with HOT .38 Specials ( mid level .357 mag level ) reloads in .38 Special brass ( I do not own a .38 Special gun ) and home cast 148 - 158 grain SWC's .
I had loaded this ammo for my .357 S&W .
Although the rifle was fun to shoot , it did not really like the ammo .
Do not know if it was the SWC's or the short OAL or both .
I have a couple .357 Mag HP's it feeds slick as butter .
I have read the M 92 is very strong .
God bless
Wyr
