Well, I'm a newbie to this forum. I've got an interest in ex-military rifles, particularly of the bolt-action variety. My collection so far includes a Mosin-Nagant 91/30, a Lee-Enfield No 4 mk 1, and a Mauser M48A in 8mm. I just picked up the Mauser, and I figured that having 3 makes a collection :D
I also just got a Taurus .357 revolver. I'm one of those who likes to put my rifles to use, I took the 91/30 deer hunting last year, and I'm still up in the air as to which rifle I'll take this year, although if the hunting is good enough that I get a deer early in the season, I'll probably switch to one of the other rifles, and if I'm real lucky get to use all 3...
I'm not big on making any irreversible changes to these rifles, especially the Enfield and the M-N, because they are WWII production, and may well have seen action. I appreciate the original design of these weapons, although I'm not opposed to making modifications that improve their function, so long as it doesn't damage the rifle (so, like swapping sights, changing the stock, etc...)
So, that's probably enough babbling. I've lurked long enough, and now I'm jumping in!
