What do you think is the best approach for shotguns?

The Bone stock shotgun other than the stocks where restained is a Winchester Defender, The other is a Remington 870 Super magnum express thats been converted. I bought an 18 inch barrel, side saddle ammo carier, changed the front stock, added a Knoxx comp stock, added a mag tube extension. I also have the origional 26 inche barrel with seveal different choke tubes as well as a rifled slug barrel. I like the fact that I can convert the remington back to a hunting shotgun. The Knoxx stock is great and I highly recomend them to anybody. I can shoot slugs all day long from it.

Now back to the question. I am kinda split. I like the look of the winchester I like the fact that its simple. Complex things well get complicated. I will not add anything else to the remington shotgun i dont like all the electronic gizmoes on a shotgun, but I may add a light. The Winchester if I run out of ammo or the gun jamms up or in realy close range will make a nice club!! I could strike with the knoxx stock but it will probably break. I like to beable to carry extra ammo right on the gun. I also like the ability to carry different loads such as 3 extra buckshot shells and 3 sluggs, but right now the remmy is loaded with sluggs and 3 inch federal preimum buck on the side saddle. However I dont think I will have time to reload If it gets that bad I shoulda brought my AR!! I also sleep in exercise shorts with pockets, I always have and always will. right becide the shotguns in the safe is 6 rounds My plan is grab the shotgun and rounds go in pocket. Its not as fast as a side saddle but I think I will be reloading after they are on the ground bleeding anyway. Anyway what do you think?

The word 'bling' comes to mind!!! :D

I'm good with a plain 870 Wingmaster, blued, shiny stock.....

Vote goes for simple//spend the $ on shells/practice rather than pimp-gear.

I'm not Rambo. Grab a familar gun from the rack. Fill er up, and grab a handful for your pocket if thats what your gut tells you. After all of that, get your buesiness done with no shots/or one shot.

I was and currently am required to qualify and use the 870 on the job so I used an 870 for my wing shooting. You do as you train!;)

Unless you plan on wearing tack gear, breaching doors and getting in running gun battles, I'd go with the Defender. About 5 years ago, I got the synthetic stocked 20 gauge defender in a trade along with another shotgun. I promptly sold the defender, and wish I never did. I would have made a good house gun.
That being said, I recently came across a Mossberg 500, non-extended mag-plain ol' hunting gun, and snatched it up for $135 as a house/utility/ whatever gun.

Go with the Winnie.
