Anyone know where I can pick up a 300 gr ranch dog mold for my 44 mag. Seems he has had some issues with Lee making his molds correctly and is out of stock and isn't getting any more.
I'm kicking myself for not finding this sight earlier. auuuggggghhhh:eek:
Got any suggestions for a mold profile that is close to his that is still avail.?

I can give you a few samples of my 265 grain ranch dog design boolits if you reimburse for shipping. How many are you looking to try?
It shoots great out of my 7 1/2" Redhawk, but the either the Meplat or the bullet size is a little large for my Marlin 1894. I think it's the bullet size, because it chambers ok right up until the last 1/4" or so, which takes a good bit of effort to finish the chambering.
I wanted a 350 grain .460 mold for my .450 Marlin, but since he is going out of business, I got a 425 grainer tonight, because that's all they had in that caliber.

BTW Gator:
Here's what a loaded .44 round looks like with that boolit. It's an impressive looking slug.

Ole1830, Thank you for offer to send me a few samples. But I'm really intrested in purchasing the actual mold.
I currently shoot Federal's Hard cast 300gr factory stuff and they cycle fine. I just want to be able to cast my own. (someting about paying $1.00 every pull of the trigger annoys me!) He did say that Lee may start making and selling his design molds as part of their normal catalog. So I guess I'll have to wait and see if that happens. Unless someone has one they are willing to part with I'm stuck to casting my old Keith bullet. it works well in my revolvers but hangs in my 1894P.

The undersized RD molds are currently for sale on Lee's "clearance" section of their website.
You can buy all the .430" bullet molds you want. Trouble is, Ranch Dog wanted/designed them to drop .432" bullets.

Ranchdog's site shows the 265 grain molds in stock today. The sizers, also. There is no 300 grain version in that diameter, and never was that I can see? I notice everything listed claims now to be in stock. I don't know if that is old reserves going out of if it is an error?

Looks like he has removed the molds from the website he no longer has in stock. I ordered the 265 gr. and sizer. but the 300gr is gone. I'll just have to be happy with that for now. The forum is still in operation. I hope he keeps it open some good stuff to be found there about loading his bullets for marlin's.
