have a few sets of brass moulds,that i got a minute amount of lead stuck to the cavity,due to myself having very little lead casting expierence. what is a good way to remove without damage to moulds. also how much 50/50 solder would you add to pure lead to equal wheel weights on a ratio basis

Heat 'em up and wipe it off with cotton (not synthetic) cloth. Or you can scrape them with a graphite pencil.
wheel weights are about 4% tin, so use that for your figuring. any more than 4% is just a waste of tin. the thing is, arsenic (about .02%) is needed to help the tin to make the metal harder (and able to be water hardened). you can also use antimony to get the same effect as tin/arsenic btw, 2% or so should do it.
