The Summer 2009 issue of "Fair Chase" (The Official Publication of the Boone and Crockett Club) has an article written by Valerius Geist, Ph.D. (a B&C Professional Member and Professor Emeritus at the University of Alberta). It is the most honest and objective discussion I've seen on the Wolf controversy. Dr. Geist is a highly regarded wildlife biologist whose opinions are respected by the scientific community. The article exposes unethical tactics of some wanting additional wolf introductions, surveys some of the hundreds of human casualties of wolf predation throughout the world over the past centuries, and describes the circumstances that induce wolves to prey on humans. He also proposes a comprehensive wildlife policy for large carnivore conservation.
