Who makes a good minie ball mold? Looking for some new molds, to make some new bullets. What are you guys using and what grains are available?

For my 58 cal I am using a few from LEE, also got one from Lyman, I also have a LEE for me 45.
Not sure of the weight on them.

I use a Lee mold in 50 caliber. Works fine.
Keep in mind that casting Minie balls is a bit different than casting a lot of pistol bullets. Because the Minie has a hollow base, the mold is a single cavity type, and you'll have some rejects from lead not quite filling out the skirt at the base of the Minie ball. Or at least I do.
The Lee mold is a bargain at about 20$, and it gets the job done.

Do you guys have a #number? I though at .615 there was a minie ball/20 gauge slug that worked or was similar?
I go this idea from the castboolist site "Some people use an undersize ball in a shotcup but a full sized ball is possible. I have rifled barrels in 20 gauge and 12 gauge from which I shoot full caliber (.615 and .735) HTWW balls." I was thinking of a similar idea with a minie ball instead for accuracy? Is that possible? If not I'll buy another mold no big.

Unfortunately no, my guns and molds are all at home and I am staying at my Sisters for awhile.

From Lee's website, my .50 caliber mold appears to be # 90472.
