I have hunted and plinked for many years and of late, just plinking with handguns. Now I'm very interested in shooting blackpowder revolvers. Is there a book available that covers the basics like loose powder vs pellets, different tpes of wads, types of lead balls, how to fit the percussion caps on the nipple, cleaning and which type or model has more benefits (easier to dissassemble) than another. I've searched all the Book Store sites and their is nothing available. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do a Google search on "Sam Fadala", he has a number of books on black-powder arms.

Dr. Sam's Black Powder Handbook from the Gun Digest folks.

Lyman's Black Powder Handbook. More on loads and ballistics, less on technique.

These are the two that taught me.
