Would Like To See A .45 Rnfp Weighing 270 To 275 Grains With A .30 Caliber Melplat, A Flat Base, One Wide Lube Groove, And No Crimp Groove. The Overall Length Would Likely Run Around .700 Or Slightly Less And Would Work Great In The .45 Acp, Super, Rowland, And Winchester Mag. Failing That Would Love To See A Lbt Lfn Weighing 275, The 300lfn Is A Little Too Long For Best Results In My Acp.

www.mountainmolds.com can probably make what you're looking for. Check out the site and see if you can design what you want using his online tool. You could also drop an email outlining what you want. The prices are quite reasonable also.

Vandy,

We offer a 255g WFNPB bullet that works superbly in most 1911 style autos. I've used it extensively, and actually is the load that lives in the clip 24/7. They feed well, actually shoot to the point of aim, and hit with real athority.

In .45 ACP:
BTB 255g WFNPB/7.0g AA #5/WLPP/Federal Brass

Although not quite as heavy as you've asked for, it carries a huge meplat and penetrates like no tomorrow.

God Bless,

Marshall

Vandy, I designed a large meplat bullet specifically for the .45 acp. The only weights I've played with are 200 and 230 grains. Both are designed weight forward for increased case capacity to enable 1,000 fps at "normal" pressures. BDacp Molds are available from Mountain Molds in two cavity blocks in either 200 or 230 grains, or through Mid South as a special order Lee six cavity mold in the 230 grain version. Meplat is .320, single lube groove and no crimp groove or swc shoulder. If you asked Mountain Molds for a heavier version he might do it for you. As the 230 grainer will penetrate anything I'm planning to use it for, I went for more velocity/flatter trajectory rather than more bullet weight. In 1911 pattern pistols the slide stop limits your cartridge OAL so additional weight is going to be a trade-off against case capacity IMHO.

Marshall, I haven't given anyone exclusive use of this design. If Beartooth wanted to offer it all you have to do is ask. All I require is that it keep the BDacp designation. I'm not in it for the $$ BD
