I took my 9 year old special needs son camping in a tent for the frist time last week. We went in upper Michigan (lower Pennisula). The whole thing was to get away from the rat race for a few days. My son has been camping before but only in a motorhome, which he loves. I have been up there before and have seen some ekl, I was hoping we would see some again, we did. There was a total of 5 bulls and 8 cows we seen. The best one was when we turned a corner on a 2 track there was a 5x5 bull standing right in the middle of the 2 track. I slamed on the brakes an stoped about 20 feet from the elk, wow what a view for my son. there are not to many 9 year olds out there that can brag that they have seen a elk in the wild that close. I hope this pic turned out ok. My son is the one in the center. The other two boy are his cousins, they went with us also.

Welcome to the board, Magg75 -

Sounds like you and your son had a super time camping. Glad you were able to get out with him and have some quality time together.

Camping is always the best, in a motorhome, pull trailer or tent, it's all good!

Welcome.
