I am considering purchasing Veral Smith's (of LBT) book about cast bullet performance. I already have Marshall Stanton's excellent Technical Guide (A Comprehensive Guide for Attaining Unsurpassed Performance Using Cast Bullets). So I wonder if Veral Smith's book would really be all that helpful or informative? Brian.

Hi Brian,

Yes Sir! It is a wonderful book and very in depth. Marshall's work compliments it more than replaces it. It's also good reading to see the brilliance of Veral Smith.

I have both books, Marshalls and Verals. Buy them both, they are not simple rehashes of each other. Helpful hint. Read Verals book slowly, read one chapter, take a break, then read it again. There's a great deal of subtlety there and it's sometimes easy to skim over some important information. Like annealing gaschecks, remember the furor over THAT post? ==Bob

How does one find Marshal Stantons technical bulletin? Looks like I should buy a copy of that too. I thought I would find it at the Beartooth location but no such luck. Fred

I'd say that Veral's book is more about making cast bullets and Marshall's is more about shooting them. Marshall goes into far more detail on firelapping.

The book is in the Shopping Cart section, on the left side of the Beartooth home screen.
