Greetings All,
I have just bought a Pedersoli Universal Vernier Tang sight. It is used and has no instructions with it. I am totally in the dark as to how this thing works. I have counted 40 marks per inch and it has a 3 in scale. What does each mark represent and where do I start with settings? It has 9 marks on the side of the piece that the eye cup screws into and I don't know what or how they are supposed to align with the ones on the side of the sight. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This is a tutorial on how to read a vernier scale. Same applies to a vernier site. If you want more info. I'll try to dig something up for you. Still new to BPCR myself.

To make the numbers and graduation lines more readable, take a piece of 600 wet sandpaper, dip it in water, and gently sand the markings with a wood backing. It will remove the blue on the majority of the strip of metal, but leave the blue in the markings intact.

Much easier to read.

I have the same sight, and the markings are already bare, not blued as the rest of the sight is.
As for how the marks relate to movement, that varies with each caliber and load. It isn't equal to a set number such as, 1" at 100 yds, per mark. There are too many variables involved to do this. You'll need to go to the range, and try different settings, until you figure out what works with your gun/caliber/load combination.
Hope this helps.

jbhickok...I have the manual for the Pedersoli 430 Vernier tang sight if you want it. Just post your address or private mail me with it and I'll send you a copy. Glad to help if I can.
