Howdy Foax! Shortly after purchasing a .45 cal. Dixie Cub for my son, the Great Sovereign Confederate State of Georgia made .50 the minimum caliber for BP deer hunting. Rather than purchase a second Cub, I'm seeking a means of converting this rifle's caliber from .45 to .50.
Because Pedersoli's .45 barrel is phenomenally accurate (8 grooves, 1:47 1/4" twist in a 28 3/8" length), I'd prefer to replicate its .50 cal. Cub barrel (same 28 3/8" length, but with 6 grooves and a 1:31 1/2" twist). Can anyone recommend a barrelmaker who might accomplish this for us?
Many thanx & best regards, Swampstalker
