All the time we hear references to America's "Judeo-Christian" tradition. Can anyone explain what this means? I have studied early American history extensively and there does not seem to be any reference to this concept. In the writings of the people who founded this country and who were here at that time, it was a Christian tradition, with no reference to anything Judeo. Please help me if I'm wrong. It would also help if you could cite to some actual sources. Thank you and God Bless.

Here's my nickles worth. Without the 'Judeo' of 'Judeo-Christian' there would have been no 'Christian'!
The 'Judeo-Christian' mindset, life-view if you will, allowed the Western World to develope the necessary science, philosophy to create a nation, such as we have here in the US.
Take a look at all the religions, societies, philosphies that go back as far as the origin of Judism and bring them forward to the present. Without the 'Judeo-Christian' mindset, life view those people, societies would still be grubbing out a life in the stone age.
Read the US Declaration of Indepenance, that expresses the perspective of the 'Judeo-Christian' mindset of 'new thinkers' who saw how the 'Old Europe' way of thinking and doing business was counter productive and harmful to the advancement of the people, society, and the 'Judeo-Christian' future.

I believe the "Judeo" refers to the fact that the bible, at least the Old Testament, is revered by both Jews and Christians as the word of God.

I agree with you!
On a superficial level 'Judeo-Christian' implies the Old Testement is revered by both Christians and Jews as the word of God or share a common root.
What I was getting at is 'Judeo-Christian' mindset is a successful way of guiding society, nations. The highest expression of the 'Judeo-Christian' mindset is the US, up to this point in time. We, here, in the US are so fortunate that our forefathers were well educated in the 'Judeo-Christian' philosphy, that they could form the basis for this wonderful country.
If all things were the same with the exception that 'Judeo-Christian' didn't work as a way of life, basis for government, etc. Judism would have not evolved beyond the Judism of Ethiopia of twenty, thirty years ago and Christianity would be another interesting foot note of history for scholars to study like tribe in the Pacific that worships 'Cargo'. It seems that during WWII planes dropped supplies and the natives still build stick figures of airplanes hoping to lure more planes to drop 'Cargo'.

This is an interesting site with at least some information

http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judeo-Christian_tradition

Try some of the links. There is a large amount of historical information on Christian Jewish relations available.

It basically refers to the 10 commandments. Religious codes common to both religions.

Judiaism is not the old testament faith of the Israelites, which was based on the laws put forth in the first 5 books of the bible.. In fact Judiasm is occultic Babylonian Talmudism, and is diametrically opposed to Christ and in fact it was these people along with the Romans who killed Christ....

These persons (Talmudic jews and Occultic Illuminati persons) have infiltrated western christianity in recent times and neutered this understanding on purpose for nefarious purpose. If you doubt that Judiasm of the time of Christ was was indeed occultic and condemned by Christ Himself, please read Matthew 20 thru 23.. and please see this link.. the man who runs the site is indeed a "jew" and he is exposing what is happening to our world today, in large part due to "jews"...

Why do I use Italics? Almost none of them are pure Judeans, descendants of the man Judah, son of Jacob/Israel... that's why.. they are heavily mixed with Edomites, during the Maccabean era, just before Christ....
Here is roughly what I believe is the greatest secret in the bible, and will help explain my position

Armstrong was a false Prophet and Deceiver of the first order, and you expect us to believe him? Even his offspring have tried to distance themselves from him by denouncing some of his teachings, but they have not fooled anyone. The WCG is still nothing more than a cult.

"he has a devil", a cultist, and such... instead of answering the teachings of the man, and their biblical veracity, just attack him. Personally I know most of Armstrong's teachings to be correct (but not all since he was a human like you or I, and we all have some error) many others are teaching these truths now and the truth as to who real Israel is, is spreading. if anyone does not want to believe this, then that's up to them. I just tell what I believe, and give biblical proof to those who want to sit down and study in the bible, showng them how everything that is currently happening around us ties in with ancient history and biblical prophecy. I walk away from those who don't want to hear. We all have free will.

Oh, and Armstorng is dead... even before the last of the apostles had died, apostasy had set into the early church.. see 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2.... It's not Armstrong's fault that those around him turned on the truths he taught, after his death. Thank God many others are now doing so on their own.

"in fact it was these people along with the Romans who killed Christ...."

I thought it was Pontius Pilate.

Who is responsible for the death of the Lord Jesus?

In no particular order:

1. The Jews
2. The Pharisees
3. Pilate
4. The Romans
5. Every man, woman and child who has ever lived.

Christ Jesus died for your sins and mine. You and I are directly responsible for his death. He was nobody's victim. He willingly offered himself in order that you and I might have life. So, who killed him? You and I.
