1) Battle weapons of the American Revolution by George C. Neumann this paperback is available from Dixie Gun Works and is a superb reference for weapons from 1600's wheel locks, blunderbusses and matchlocks to swords and pikes used in the revolution and even fowlers pressed into service as military arms.

2) the Osprey military series. These are detailed paperback books with color illustrations of exact battles, armies, conflicts.. I have many of these and my favorites are the "Scottish highlander series", the Zulu War 1879, American revolution, and the many Viking related books.. but most eras from ancient Assyria to modern wars and warriors are covered... weapons, tactics, dress, equipment are covered in detail.

If you are interested in the Zulu Wars, have you read "The Social History of the Machine Gun" ?

I am interested in British firearms from this period. Mostly in the commercial loading techniques. Volume production of paper patch bullets and the loading plates used for charging large quantities of black powder cartridges.
I am interested in early cordite cartridge loading also.
