Hi, everybody, first of all i apologies for my english.......

i have a ruger 454 casull and usually shoot magtech 260 grs sjsp.........now i would to know which type of powder is in this ammunition. Some time it sticks in the gun cylinder and i wonder why, thanks all

Hello and welcome to the forums!

There is no telling what exact powder is being used, it is probably something slow-burning like WW296, H110, Alliant 2400, or something of that nature.

If you have problems with cases sticking in the chambers, this is a known problem with Rugers. Their chambers tend to be somewhat rough. There are also published reports of the metal in the cylinder being somewhat more elastic and this contributes to the problem.

Since you are in Italy and it would be a problem sending the gun back to Ruger to be worked on, I would suggest finding a gunsmith nearby who can polish the chambers a little.

Also be sure to keep them as clean as possible.
