Somebody have notices about the taurus raging bull in 454 casull? I heard controversial opinion about it's strenght and reliableness.............How it is about the recoil? the recoil compared to ruger and freedom arms it's less because the compensator?

thanks

I have never seen any published reports of problems with the Taurus .454. I have other Taurus guns and they seem to be good quality products, better than expected for the price.

When the Taurus 454 was released, many of the then unanswered questions about strength, etc. were a result of the Taurus brand name not having that much of a recognized track record. Since it's release, I've not read any reports identifying problems with their revolver. I have a 6" Taurus 454 and an 8" 454 and have never had any problems, in fact both are quite accurate and perform slightly better than the Ruger Super Redhawk 454 I had. My experience is that the Tarus has slightly less felt recoil, but at the 454 level, it's kinda hard to tell

Hi there
I will (but don't hold your breath as I have to find it first) post an article about durability and recoil of these handguns, including some pictures of them in full recoil - If I remember correctly there was a standard Raging Bull, a shortened version 5 inch (i.e. compensator had been removed) version, and either a blackhawk or a freedom arms.

As I say - patience please
Cheers

My shooting buddy has a Tarus 454. Over the past 6 years we average 40 trips a year out shooting and I would guess we have 15,000+ rounds thru that revolver. (yes we reload and shoot allot) The forcing cone is getting worn out but it shoots very well. Both of us have Tarus .480's and I also have a Tarus Titainum .44 special. All perform extremely well. With a lifetime warrenty how can you go wrong?

I can't comment on the Ruger etc., but I own the Raging Bull. I think the comp helps with felt recoil as compared to other big bore's I shot without one. What I feel really makes the diference is the grips that Taurus installed. They fit my hand well and the strip of harder duramitor rubber down the backstrap absorbes alot. To shoot .45LC is about like shooting .38's in a .357; the .454 does offer quite a substancial difference but it is easily handled due to the comp, the full lug under barrel, and those nice grips. I love it and have yet to see any problems.
