I basically looking at reviews on the gun in 30-06 and since they make such nice groups at 100 yards for so low a cost for a package rifle and scope for 347 at my local gun store. It would make an ideal 300 yard medium game rifle or maybe just a fun plinker in a medium bore caliber since so low a cost has anyone had experiance with the rifle as far as 30-06 or 270?

I was here wondering *if* :) let me know your thoughts if you have heard anything about the gun in either caliber.

DO NOT BY THIS RIFLE!!!!!! there has already been a recall on it.. gunsmiths my me are always fixing them. It is a huge hunk of plastic crap. the trigger guard isnt even metal... if u want cheap go with a savage

From past postings, Mossyoak, I think you'll find the majority of the board is in agreement with you.

From what I've seen of them, I'd avoid purchasing one.

Honestly If 20-30 dollars is all that is separaring the price between it and a savage go with the savage , This is coming from a remington fanatic . Ihave owned or do own 1 or 2 of every thing remington has produced in the last 60 or so years. So my opinion of the 710 is that it is the least desirable thing I have ever seen them make. But in spite of that the ones I have seen in action are really accurate and for as long as they have been on the market thus far pretty darn reliable true the first batch or so had stiff bolts ,bolt handles were being broke off (just like 788 back when they cane out). and bolt retaining levers that would fail to keep bolt from falling out of the back of rifle if you worked it tohard (which with stiffness you had to). If the next best offering was 100.00 or so dollars more than the 710 they would be a good deal . instead of stealing the savage market like they hoped they really make the savage seem like a much better gun for just a few bucks more.
