I have just run out of my FF Black Powder and ran down to my local supplier who used to carry it. Unfortunately, they cannot get it anymore and recommended Pyrodex or 777. I am using #11 primer on a Lyman Great Plains muzzleloader and do not know which of the 2 choices they recommended will burn hotter to ignite quicker with the #11 primer. If there is anyone that can give me some insight on the right way to go, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, if anyone knows how to get the FF Black Powder in North Florida, please advise. I really prefer to stay with it.

I've not had much trouble with Pyrodex, but the 777 is easier to clean up after and seems to be more accurate. I've not had ignition problems with either using the standard cap, but I'm using an inline. I would go with the Triple 7 if you can't get your black powder.

I also have a Lyman Great Plains rifle. I've had problems with pyrodex, but 777 seems to work well.
But you can't beat Black powder.
