hi, i am new to this site and relatively new to the world of handguns. i am looking for a small, lightweight yet powerful handgun(.45 preferable) for concealed carry. i currently own a para ordinance P12 that i really like but it is so darn heavy and makes carrying an inconvience at times. money is not really a concern as i don't plan on buying many firearms and i want something very reliable. so far i am considering the kimber ultra ten cdpII and ultra cdpII(the cdpII is cheaper for some reason and i don't know why), the kimber ultra carryII and the springfield micro. are any on these good choices or do you have other recommendations. thanks.

If your partial to the slew of polymer framed guns out there, these are what you might wan't to look at . In particular the sub -compact Glocks both single and double stack models . Iowned a full size Model 21 and found it to be extremely accuate at "combat" range and very controllable as to recoil and second shot accuacy. Ihad the opprotunity to shoot some of the smaller .45 Glocks and was quite surprised that I could shoot them just as well and they were very comtrollable also. not to mention they are very light weight and concealable .

I have a LLama Mini Max .45, I love it. It's got 10rd cap. mags., and supprisingly very accurate. Also, it was't high dollar. I have a Glock Mod. 27 in .40 cal. It is also very accurate, and I love it also. Of the two, I carry the Glock. No safety, no hammer, less chance of snagging if you have to draw it quickly.

I'm a big fan of the Kimbers, so I don't think you can go wrong going that direction. That said, the more I shoot the Para LDA's the more I like them. I'd suggest you at least look at, and fire if you've a range with rental guns, the LDA compact Para's. I know there where some reliability issues early on, but it's alleged that they have been corrected. The trigger setup is sweet.

My daily carry gun is a Kimber Ultra CDP II. It carries easily and shoots very well. I absolutely love it! I don't much care for the rear sight design but that will soon be fixed when I replace it with a Novak.
