I have a Ruger SRH in 480, with a 7-1/2" bbl. I have a red dot sight mounted on it, and use it for deer hunting. So far, I've just been lugging it around. I'd like to go to a holster instead. Possibly a cross draw or bandoleer. I'm not at all stuck on the black cordura stuff. It looks ugly, and is noisy if anything rubs by it. I'd prefer leather.
I found one place on the web, pistolpackaging.com, that does have such holsters, but they still aren't very molded to a particular model. I remember seeing a site on the web a couple years ago that makes really nice custom molded leather holsters for specific model and bbl length scoped pistols, but I've lost the link.
Anyone have any advice or possible manufacturers who make good holsters for a scoped SRH?
What about a sling instead? I've never used one and wonder how to get the gun into firing position quickly? Doesn't the gun tend to swing around and bang into things.
thanks in advance for any suggestions and comments.

Why lug a rifle when you can do it all with a pistol!!
