So, since you are now engaging in criticism of others, can we expect you will be leaving soon?

I wondered that too, TPM. One of the many reasons that I enjoy the board, is the remarkable good nature and forbearance shown by folk of different views, all sharing a love of shooting (at wildly varying skill-levels) and, on this forum, a love of the Lord Jesus. It's a refreshing change from other boards.
Dunno what you're on about Burch, but welcome anyway and I hope that you hang around for a long time.

I guess I`d better explain myself. I had looked at a couple of the other post and found people baggering each other on their specific religions or beliefs. My intension is not to offend those of you who are praying for each and believing in one another.I`m just saying lets get through this walk on earth together and not alone. I appoligize to all of you and would like to start over. I think I`ve offended TPM the most so I`m offering a personal appoligy to you sir and hope I can start fresh with you and ask God to forgive me.
Yours truly,
Burch

Hi Burch,
Your seniments are appreciated..... but honestly, this is a pretty civil bunch. You don't even want to see some of the flame-throwing and mud-slinging (and worse) that goes on in some of the forums out there.
I'd encourage you, if you see a post that you feel is getting out of hand, to use the "Report post" link at the lower left hand corner of any post. That will notify the moderators and we'll get is straightened out.

Hi Burch,
You asked if anybody lives in the Cocoa Fl area. No I do not but I wish I did. Lovely area. My dad used to launch satellites every year or so at C Canaveral when I was growing up and I got to visit the area (Cocoa, C beach, Titusville etc) a few times to see the launches. Lovely area.
Welcome aboard, relax and enjoy. You are mostly among friends.

Hello Bill,
If you ask me it stays hot too long here. I live just south of Tittusville in Port Saint John, been here for almost 25yrs. I`ve got to see many launches and I don`t care how many you see their still awsome. Especially the night shots. What a sight to behold. Well thanks for the reply Bill and God bless.
Burch, you have not offended me at all. Regardless, an apology is not necessary. I'm a big believer in free speech whether offensive or not, so let the games begin.
My comment was tongue-in-cheek.

Welcome Burch to our community in Christ,
We do, sometimes, get into discussions of theological issues. I have not seen any posts which were not made in a spirit of Christian love and correction. When we do inadvertantly upset someone we are quick to calm the ruffled feathers. Please rember that Paul gave us direction to correct where necessary. We are not doing our duty as Christians if we ignore false teaching.

I think I was a little too gruff but apparently all is good so we can all be friends and concentrate on helping each other on certain topics without offence. If my foot gets stuck in my mouth again please feel free to pull it out.
Thanks to all,
Burch

Gentlemen,
I didna' realize this was a Christian board. What a fantastic concept. You know I found it totally by accident. I was looking for info on Ruger .45LC Vaquero. Always wanted one so I bought one. Still haven't shot it.
Keep up the good work and remember He is coming soon and this old earth is gettin' ready!!!

I take it you haven't been introduced to the other gun or hunting forums on the internet as of yet? Well, I sire confess three things, one that I am a sinner with several faults and second, I believe in Jesus Christ and his resurection from the dead. Three his death was to save those like me from the depths of ****, that I may have a place in his paradise when this life of mine is done on earth.
I have a real problem with turning the other cheek you might say, comes from my boyhood days growing up on the other side of the tracks. I try to be a solider of Christ, I must confess I am not making near the headway I had hoped too in my beginning days.
I am Pro American and believe in our Constitution, as a citizen of this great country. However, I do have a great problem with some folks and a thing called religion .......don't mind telling you Islam and what the Muslims preach or teach is one of them. I am a staunch listner to the Rev. John Hagee in Texas along with Kenneth Copeland.

I have been a member of a few other boards that have over 6000 members. Probably only a couple hundred active full time. With those numbers you can bank on the fact if someone says its white there is someone who will insist on it being black. On one board the topic of abortion came up which lets face it can get heated. I had one guy actually private message me and threaten me. I made a deal with him. I didnt respond to any of his post and he doesnt respond to mine. He was the only one that just wanted to argue with me for some reason. I love a good debate and am quite good at it. But personal attacks on a daily basis are not good. When a member of a board gets me to a point that I lash back breaking the posting rules, thats the time to leave the board alone for a while or walk away completely. But in Open Forums these debates are gonna happen, its what makes Chocolate and what makes Vanilla!

Valigator,
You're certainly correct, discussions can and do sometimes decay into heated arguments and "flaaming". But we hope that what separates this web site from the ones you referenced is that uncivil responses will not be tolerated. This is not intended to stifle discussion or diagreement, but it will be done civilly, or the threads/posts weil either be locked or deleted. Repeated ignoring of requests for civility can result in being banned.

No, please don't take anything said as a warning. It's just that we've had our share of problems here in the past, and with such a huge influx of new members here recently, we're all somewhat watchful, and striving to preserve the civil atmosphere that this forum has come to typify.
No affront intended, and no warning made. It's great to have you aboard, and it appears that you have some background and experiences totally foriegn to many of us. I'm looking forward to your input here!
Thanks, and God Bless,

Ah yes, the English language.....I apologize if my intent wasn't clear. It was definitely not meant as a warning, but as assurance to you that negative problems that have affected you elsewhere in the past would not occur here.
Sorry if I wasn't sufficiently lucid, but was kinda rushed. I guess my "make you feel at home" bedside manner needs some work.

I realize that I'm new here and I don't really know any of you yet but I would like to make an observation. Many times the water gets really before it becomes clear.Conflict is the road to understanding. You express a point,I express a point. We disagree,Itry to validate mine, you do the same,we learn. This conflict can and will bring a closer walk with God.Unless we get stupid.Seems to me everyone did very well.Just my two cents.

Burch,
I was told when I was young that when it comes to faith, we are all trying to get to the same place, some just choose different paths.
I do sense a very real, caring, and respectful concern for the people who post on this forum, that is not there with other forums. That comes from the leadership at the top.
I have had the pleasure to meet some of the folks here and I can tell you that they are genuine.
Even some of the dumb questions that I ask here, get answered with concern and respect.
Good Luck,Tom

We will disagree, your opinion is as good as mine.If we talk I may change my mind, you may change yours. We all agree that Jesus will set all things right,we will come into agreement(understanding).Till then we will just wait on him together.
