i am considering getting either the walther p99 or the hk usp compact. what are the pros and cons of each and which would be the better choice for concealed carry. i'm also leaning to .40 caliber in either(the hk also comes in.45 or .357 sig). what do you think?

Kbatty,

You can't go wrong with either. I own both. P99 in 9mm and a USP40C. The P99 fits better in my hand (Like it was made for "my" hand) "I" would go with the 357 SIG over the 9mm or 40. Try to find a place that you can fire both of them. Most indoor ranges offer these pistols as rentals. I currently carry a SIG P220 45, I made a mistake and sold my 357 SIG. Remember, its just like insurance. What do you bet your life on?

I own a 9mm P99 and really enjoy shooting it for accuracy. I did recently touch and feel a H&K USP and was glad I already had a P99. Only because at the time I was comparing the Walther to a Beretta and Glock. Didn't make the choice difficult for me. However, comparing the H&K with the Walther now would be tougher. The price is considerably different between those two handguns. The three adjustable grips that come with the P99 was a good selling point for me. Anyway, to answer your question. I feel whichever gun you choose, you'll know as soon as you handle it. Grip it, pull the slide back, break it down, re-assemble it, etc. Either one is a quality made firearm.
