After loading handgun and shotgun for 15 years, just starting rifle. Thought I'd start with 7.62x39 since I use my SKS(s) more than anything else. (Real reason: I can't find reloadable brass for 7.62x354R !).

Research is showing me the 123 Hornady SP is a good bullet, case doesn't matter, and H335 about the best powder.

Anyone have experience / info to share?

Given the current prices of surplus ammo, don't reload 7.62X39 much...still load some cast bullet "plinker" type loads. Back when ammo was harder to come by, loaded it a good bit and the Hornady bullet is a good choice. Used more Reloader 7 and 4198 than anything else, but that's mostly because I had them on hand for other rifles. H335 looks to be a good choice from the manual's figures.
