and I haven't had an opportunity to take it to the range yet, but I have a question: should the cylinder be THAT difficult to release from the frame? It's extremely tight. Does that have something to do with the ball detent system it uses? Thanks in advance.

They are all like that. They made them that way, so it will not open with heavy recoil. The ball detent system is extra heavy duty.

it is not that high when you can kill 5 deers with one shot. can you even imagine that productivity of this gun?
i like to own one of these rpg someday. as of right now, i want to buy gun i can shoot without causing great physical danger.
by the way, arnold has got 2 of these guns with special gold plate and diamond insert grip. he wanted to have gold lettering along the barrel, but the gunsmith explained to arnold that real guns are not like those he used in movies.

I guess that if you killed 5 deer at once, that you would be thinking of the "FINE" more then the cost of bullets. Gold plating and diamond insert grips WOW" I need a better Job!
My 480 SRH is feeling a little left out now!!!

mobias,
As redhawk1 said, it was made that way, but when opening the cylinder, try pushing at the front of the cylinder, and I think you will find it much easier, it works for me.

Thanks for the responses guys. I still haven't gotten the opportunity to shoot it yet. I just got a set of dies and a case of Starline brass for it. As soon as I get my 370 grain cast gas checked bullets from Midway I'll be all set. I think the handloading potential for this cartridge/gun combo will be tremendous. I should say up front that I have no intention of ever shooting the top end loads. 440 grainers at 1600fps+ is more than I would ever even think about shooting. However, given the weight and design of the gun, I think loads which would approximate 475 Linebaugh performance could be quite manageable. Perhaps a 400 or 440 grainer in the 1300-1400 fps range? I am looking forward to getting to my bench and cranking some out. Any good load suggestions?
