My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer today. It appears to be extensive. We have three daughters, 23,13,and 11. One grandaughter 11 mos old. Daughter #1 and her husband brought dinner tonight, my wife held our little grandaughter the whole time. Her attitude is better than mine, she said she has the easy part in all this.

If ever there was a christian wife, it is her. I don't deserve her. God is great and just, pray for our strength in Him.

Thanks, Don.

Don our brother, there'll be lots of folk praying for your wife and you right now. Many won't post on the board, because we're all lost for words in situations like this. But the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groans which cannot be uttered.
Praise God for your wife. Praise God for your faith.
We're praying for your medical advisers too, praise God for the wonder-working skills which He has given to them.
What's your wife's name?

The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

I'm at a loss for words. Praying for you all and that you will be drawn closer to the Saviour through this trial.

Don ,I will add your wife to my prayer list and I will bring her name before the prayer group at church.

It is hard for a human being to give comfort to another when their world appears to be crumbling around them, but remember that GOD through HIS SON JESUS CHRIST has promised to supply all the needs of those who love HIM.

Trust HIM,expect a MIRACLE, glorify HIS NAME,remember even the sea will obey Him when HE speaks.

Yours in CHRIST,

You and yours will be in my prayers. My mother was diagnosed and had a breast removed earlier this year. I thank God for giving us good doctors and modern medicine.

She will need all your emotional support and then some. I know God will give you the strength you need.

Don,
You will be in my thoughts - my wife just went through a bilateral mastectomy in September, and she has surgery this coming Tuesday to remove her ovaries. It's been a tough road, but her prognosis is good! I hope that all goes well with your wife's surgery. I know what you're going through.
Take care!

Just got home, the surgery went as expected. Preliminary results of the bone scans were negative. By God's grace it was caught before spreading. Our minister and several members from the church waited with our family.

Your prayers mean more to us than you can know. Thank you.

I want to thank every one for their prayers. We are in the middle of the chemo treatments, everything is looking good. Several more months and we will be through this. My wifes' spirits are good and her faith is strong.

Thanks to all.

Bidfoot I just wonted you to know that we are praying for you. Our God is a Mighty God. Psalm's 29:3,10-11 tells us regardless what is going on in our lives God is in control over the flood's.
I know he also uses doctors at times. You might wont to check this one out. Dr. Gudrun Tonskamper in White Rock B.C. who uses eastern medicine and with Gods help has saved 2 of my family members and 3 good friends from terminal cancer. She also is sent people from the local doctors who can't do any more for them in there care and has a high degree of recovery. I have been told she dose not charge alot and with the exchange rate it is more than reasonable. Her phone # is 604-536-1400 and her e-mail is www.naturalhealthclinic.ca . I do not know the Dr. but have been told that she will gladly talk to people and is very honest with whether she feels she can help or not. If You decide that you would wont to seek her out I have friends and family just on this side of the border that I know would help put you and yours up.

God Bless; Leon

Praise God for the positive results of your wife's surgery! I pray that things are continuing to progress in a positive way.

I had the "guy cancer" and underwent a radical prostetectomy in Jan. 2003. That was the only treatment required and now we just monitor for any signs of further cancer.

As much breast cancer as there is, I have yet to see a hospice patient die of breast cancer. I have served as the volunteer hospice chaplain since Oct. 2001. There is hope.

I attend a weekly cancer support group which is made up mostly of gals who have or had breast cancer. What a great group! If your wife decides to attend such a group, I hope that you will go with her. We have some terrific experiences when couples attend together.

God bless you and yours.

She had the last chemo treatment Friday and is recovering now. She is very nauseated but her spirits are still good. All that is left now is to regrow some hair, a little radiation and move on. God is to be praised for all the good people we have been surrounded with. Our church family has been incredible, as have those on this thread. Your prayers mean more than you can know.

Being in His hands is better than anything man can create. The glory and forgiveness promised makes any suffering here insignificant. Thanks to all for your prayers.

More prayers on the way for your wife and her continued recovery, as well as for you and your family, to help heal and replenish your spirit of hope and caring for your loved ones. You get back more than you put in, so when dark times come upon yourself, know that those you have prayed and cared for for will return your kindness tenfold. After battling leukemia twice and most recently thyroid cancer, I speak from experience and tell you hope springs eternal, and I believe in the power of prayer.

Don! My prayers are with you and your whole family. May God grant each of you the strength you need, and also give you comfort in knowing that in spite of this, God loves you all. God's ways are strange and mysterious to us, but I trust He will take care of all your family in this hard time. May God in His mercy also grant healing to your Dear wife. God Bless you all. Jim

Have to update this thread. Wife had the last radiation treatment Fri. Everything is done. The reports are she is cancer free and has a low chance of recurring.

Thank all of you for your support and prayers. God has been with us.

This is a brutal disease but His grace is truly sufficient. May His name be praised.

bIGfOOT , I have never met you but, feel like you are my brother in Christ Jesus. I am so glad to read of your wifes triumphant recovery from cancer. Job was faced with great misery even the death of his children and through it all he praised the Lord. You my friend have done the same we know not why we go through these tough times. I was thinking maybe it was so none belivers could see that God still sits on his throne and is able to do all things. Many people would have said your wife was a gonner but, with christ all things are possible( phillipians 4:13 ) In short John 16:33 says that in this world we have great tribulation but, He has overcome the world. Powerful words from a powerful God that is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond what the world can imagine.I have and will continue to pray for your wife and for the continued strength of your family . May God richly bless you my brother.

We received some bad news the other day. After being clear for only eight months the cancer is back in her lungs.

She got pnuemonia a month ago and the x-ray showed something in the lining. Surgery revealed tumors. Six to nine months of chemo ahead.

My brother, distant in space but just next door in grace, I can't shoot very straight but I can pray with the best of'em.
Our risen Lord bless your wife, you, your whole family and His servants the medics over the next few months of rough treatment.
Because board members are scattered across the globe in different time zones, you can be pretty sure that there'll be a Shooters Forum prayer going up to the Throne round the clock.

My continued prayers. This is disappointing and terrible news, but know that you have friends you may count on for support whenever you need. There are resources available to not only your wife, but for you and your family as well, such as support groups, literature and education for dealing with and understanding cancer and it's treatment, plus the aspects of family members who are affected by it as well.
May God Bless you and those who love you.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your wife, and family. Not many can really express their feelings as it is a human quality to be silent in facing fear. Belief in the Lord alleviates that fear. I hope all goes well for your dear one from this point on. God bless,

I don't know you or your deceased love one personally but as a Christian we all feel your loss. Nothing can alleviate the pain and grief you now feel.
We all have had losses in life but the one that strikes you on a personal basis is unique to each one of us. May the Lord receive her in heaven and put her in a special place that is for all the ones that have suffered as mush as she did. May God give you the strength to go through this sad part of your life. I am very sorry for your loss and wished it could have ended differently for you and your family. God bless you Bigfoot.
