Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of buying guns online (www.galleryofguns.com or anywhere that offers the Davidson's GuaranteeD Lifetime Replacement program?

It sounds like a great deal, but I like to support my local dealers. So if the davidsons replacement guarantee really is as good as they say I would consider buying online, otherwise I would prefer buy local.

You are buying the firearm from your local dealer one way or the other. You have to transfer the firearm through a local FFL dealer, or your FFL, no matter what. Davidson's is a distributor, not a dealer, and it would not be in their best interest to cut the local dealer out of the equation. The local dealer is who sells their guns. Davidsons uses their online service to connect you with, and bring business to, the local dealers who buy from Davidsons.

Dont worry. They only sell to their local dealers. Markup is agreedin advance. You pay a small deposit to Davidsons and the balance to the dealer. I bought a ruger this way. Dealer was quite happy.
