I guess I can announce this now. I am going to be a regular columnist in the new magazine published by Buckmaster's called GunHunter. My column has not been officially named yet but the temporary standing head is "Open Range." I believe my first column -- which will be on my introduction to reloading -- will be in the April issue.

Congratulations!
From what I've been told, it's really hard to break into the printed press periodicals as a writer, especially on a regular basis! That's awesome. Let us know when press time comes!
God bless,

Congrats! I'm not a Buckmasters member and don't normally read the magazine, but will buy it at the newstand just to read your column. Good luck with it.

Best of luck,
God knows the magazines need people that actually love to hunt, reload and shoot.

Darn, I just wrote a long reply of thanks then lost it when I inadvertantly hit Return. On well, thanks, everyone, for the well-wishes. The column, I think, will be called "From the Range." The reference being to my being a Montana rancher, not an expert on the firing range. In fact, I am not a technical expert with firearms or ballistics, but I don't think that is a disadvantage. Too many experts already, I suspect. I do bring 34 years of writing to the table. And, a decidedly Christian persepective, which while it will not be overt in the columns, hopefully the principles will be seen.
Oh, and Perferator, did you ever get through THE LAND OF EMPTY HOUSES?

Good luck to you. Several years ago you answered one of the first questions I ever asked on a board. You did so with style and class even though it was obviously a rookie question. Hope your column has a long run.

Great news Sunday Creek. I've always enjoyed your comments on MTalk and now this forum. You will do great and I will try to find the magazine. Never seen it down here.

Sunday Creek, my sin has found me out! You'll have the promised email coming that's been put off. I've read the book and going to read it again. It's that good! There was a special blessing that came to me while I was reading it. Yeah, it's a great piece :)

Congratulations and well wishes, Sunday Creek -
Have a great admiration for anyone who can publish articles month after month without saying the same thing twice.
Most publications (rags) don't hold much interest to me these days, excepting the Wolfe publications. Guess I've burnt out reading the exploits and bought opinions of the staff on the run-of-the-mill magazines today.
Hope this opportunity turns out well for you and that both you and the publication prosper.
