Any of you have a 1 piece 'bear Proof' ejector in your guns? Any noticable difference?

I'm thinking about getting one for my GS, I'm curious in the pros and cons.....

I put a WWG ejector in my Guide Gun shortly after I got the rifle. I've fired about 1600 rounds without problem. The WWG part appears stronger. I don't know if the ejector made any difference, but it does make me feel better.

The downside is that the WWG ejector cost alot more than a Marlin replacement part. I don't believe that the Marlin ejectors fail regularly and its easy to carry spares.

I only know of one person that had a broken ejector. He said it fell apart while he was cleaning his 336. The rifle was only a year old and was made in 2001. I grew up around alot of folks that hunted with Marlins and never heard of a broken ejector. Of course, most of those folks never shot more than a box of ammo a year.

Most typical shooters probably don't need the part. If you can see yourself trying to shake an empty case out of the action while evading claws or teeth then you need the part.

Is this a drop in part or does it really require some gunsmithing to install? It appears or seems like it would be a drop in part, but the website notes gunsmithing required.

I don't really know if the WWG's ejector is worth it or not but I just ordered 2 new one's from Brownells as spares for less than half of the WWG one. Granted, if I hunted Brown bear I'd probably install one just to be on the "safe" side. With my luck either one of them would break on me anyway when I needed it the most! :D :D CEJ...

I bought one, mostly for grins I think, with the WWG trigger. A friend had one so I got one, too! Don't believe I'd do it again. Drops in easily, no problems and it works fine. However, for what I do the original extractor is OK.

The spring broke on my 60's rc and to make due for sighting in this new/used gun I distempered the old spring and replaced(rebent) the curl . I've shot at least 80 rounds w/ it waiting for the new spring from Nimrich in which the curl is too big. I think I would replace it with a one piece unit if I were to pursue somthing that could eat me but that kind of hunting I'll take my new Guide gun.
The origonal spring broke at the curl so there was plenty leftover to make a new one. I'm sure this could be done it the field w/a lighter and small pliers. Just remimber to retemper.. and don't stop running till it's fixed or the bear gives out!

I received my new one today, and I was impressed myself. My rifle is going to be my 'everything' rifle, (including home defence) so I want the best parts possible. The stock unit just seemed too flimsy in mine, and the unit seemed like it was going to fall apart where the two pieces were joined together. Don't get me wrong, the part would probably work just fine, but I've spent a lot of time deciding which rifle to get, and I want to make sure EVERYTHING is going to work as I expect it to.
