I am going to order some AA2200 powder for loading in a 35 remington, and was wondering if there is a prefered primer for ball powder. I have not
used any ball powder but have heard that you should use a hot primer due to the coating on it. I use Winchester Large Rifle primers for all my other
loads but was wondering if I should use another brand or go to a magnum primer? Thanks, James.

Hi, James:
The .35 has a fairly small case and Accurate used the CCI 200 non-magnum with their other ball powders.

Isn't 2200 one of their bargain surplus powders? Where do you find data for it?

There is data for AA2200 on Accurate Arms website, and they do show a CCI 200 primer for use in the 35 Remington [thanks for the reminder-if all else fails, read the directions:) ].  Actually they have AA2200 data for a number of cartridges from the 22 Hornet  to the 458 Win mag.  On their home page they have a "smokeless propellant" drop down menu which lists 2200.  And at $47/8 lbs the price is right.  James
