I would like to smooth the lever action on my 30-30. Naturally the bulk of the problem is the resistive force of the hammer spring. What I don't like is the initial resistive force of the lever when loading a round into the chamber. Is there anything that can be done? Perhaps shortening or replacing the hammer spring?
