I've always liked the looks of the classic 94. Due to a strict budget, I am looking at a new model 94 in 30-30 win. The rifle will be used for recreational shooting, as well as hunting next year. However, I do have some concern with barrel damage due to a relatively high rate of fire I envision taking place recreationally.
Are my suspicions correct? I can only imagine that a cool-down period of several minutes is necessary after firing in semi-rapid pace.
Also, if any of you guys have tried the Legacy model, what do you think? For me, it'll be a Legacy or a Trad. Thanks for the help.

How many rounds will you be firing? If you are concerned about over heating the weapon, let it cool briefly when reloading the magazine. Depending on model and caliber, you will only have strings of fire 9 to 11 shots long.

I'm not sure what your recreation involves, but it is a bit harder to imagine cooking a .30-30 barrel than say, a .22-250.

If you feel the need to burn a lot of ammo fast, I'd suggest downloading it a bit, maybe use cast bullets.
