Well, In a magazine I've got called the Complete Book of Handguns, it has good news for us Ruger P 90 fans (No I don't have one yet, but I'm gonna try to get one in about a week, at the next gunshow.). It says they're going to start making lasergrips for the P 90 cuz the bigshots at Crimson Trace have seen how popular this gun is. Does anybody know anymore about it?? Anybody else heard about it maybe?? Also, has anyone heard if they're working on laser grips for the Taurus model 617??

I received thie answer from Crimson Trace when I asked them this question. I received the email on 11/21/2003. So I don't know if I would hold my breath, unless they suddenly had a miraculous turnaround.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Crimson Trace does not currently make Lasergrips to fit the Ruger P-89 and P-90. However, we do periodically get requests for this model and may develope a Lasergrip for it in the future. No release date has been scheduled yet and it will likely be at least a year or more before it is on the market.
Our team of engineers is continually working on new product development. You can bookmark our website www.crimsontrace.com and check in periodically for updates on our latest product releases.
For now, please check out our current line of products. We have Lasergrips to fit a wide range of quality handguns, both revolver and semi-automatic (see attached document). Perhaps there is another gun in your safe that you have considered upgrading. Many of our customers have even told us that the benefits of using Lasergrips compelled them to buy a new gun rather than wait for a model that we have not yet produced. They have found that Lasergrips offer an instant and decisive advantage that no other handgun accessory can equal.
Want more information on the benefits of using laser sights? Go to our website www.crimsontrace.com.
Best regards,
Crimson Trace Corporation

That seems to be a standard reply to these requests then. I got the same one when I asked them about Laser grips for my Taurus 617.
Thanks for the reply, dude.

Yup, I guess it's a form letter. I have the laser grips on my S&W 629 and I like them.

Yeah. I already have a little experience with laser grips. My dad has them on his Kimber Ultra Carry. The only thing is if I'm in bright sun light, I can't see the dot.

I'm issued a pair for my M1911A1 here in Iraq. Great for limited visibility and when your moving. Shot close to 350 rounds today but the distance (35yds) and bright sunlight couldn't see the laser. Great assest when I fly aircraft at night or when I'm driving downtown Baghdad at night. Excellent shooting aid when you shoot onehanded in akward shooting postions.

So far, the guys I talk to at the range about laser grips are not real enthusastic about them. Mostly because in the sun they dont work too well.
They figure you should be able to point and aim the gun anyway, so why rely on lasergips.
I personally think they can be a plus. Especially to a blind old man like me. If I can see the dot then I know I am pointing in the right place. If its too bright then I am still pointing the gun at the "target"
I would rely on my aiming skills .

Need to use reflective "orange tape" to see it better in the daylight. I had sighted in an AR-15 once a while back and that worked really well. When you see the laser reflect back squeeze the trigger.
