I'm saving up for my next rifle at the moment & noticed that Rossi make a similar product to NEF/H&R's Handi rifle, the notable difference being that you can buy a Rossi Matched Pair with 2 different barrels rather than having to send the receiver back for matching.
That's an adavantage as I live in Australia & can't make use of the NEF/H&R barrel program.
Question is, what is the accuracy like for the Rossi single shots?
Are they as good as the Handrifle has been said to be?
Do they have the same sort of initial extraction problems many folks have reported about their handirifles?

I saw the Rossi's at Dick's, also. I am in the market for a Handi-Rifle, and made the decision I'm going to pass on the Rossi. I've owned NEF products before, and they are very well made, exceptional firearms for the price.
And, they are made in the USA. That means a lot to me, too.

I once purchased a new Rossi in .357 Magnum. It functioned quite well until I noticed that fired primers had an odd appearence to them. Then, during the cleaning process, I observed that around the firing pin the receiver metal had flaked away.
I traded my Rossi for my first NEF in .243, and after a little tweaking I've got a tack driver made of metal that doesn't crumble.
