Hi Guys,

I thought you are deserving of a follow up of a previous thread of how I polished the chambers of the cylinder of my .454 Casull.

Since last year, I have now reloaded my several hundred cases about 8 times each with predominately low pressure loads but many hot ones also. No matter the brand of case or the hotness of the load, the empty cases simply fall out of the chambers when the cylinder is opened and the muzzle raised about 45 degrees upward. No pressure of the ejection rod is necessary.

An added benefit is that the cases need not be full length resized. I only resize down far enough to reach the bottom of the bullet being loaded. The thinking is that when the base of the case fits snugly in the chambers, it is more than likely that the cartridge is centered in the chamber, and aligned more exactly with the centerline of the sizing ring in the front of the chamber and also the forcing cone in the rear of the barrel. ( As badly as I shoot anymore, I need every little advantage I can get hold of.) My chambers are like mirrors after being cleaned and I'm a lot happier now that I don't have cases sticking in the chambers any more.

This works for me, but may not work for everyone. I don't want to listen to nit-pickers and negatives. Don't like it ? Don't do it. Just keep your thoughts to yourself.
