The weather finally broke and all my fair weather buds were stuck on the sofa watching the cars go round. I got out and found how loud my new gun is. Sunshine, high tide, 17' Mako running like a top and my pal Evan waiting in the cooler for me to come out the woods. This sow was split behind and between the ears at 100 ft. Made a big mistake in not checking my safety after the first shot. The first hog I ever shot I nailed him twice in the time it took him to spin 180. That was w/ a bolt MAS 36. Later I couln't even remimber bolting and shooting that second shot. Every shot I've made since then w/ my lever guns it seems to be a reflex to chamber a second round immediatly after the first shot. While standing over this hog today I changed hands on the gun and it discharged. Lucky for me and the guys on the couch. This is the same adrenalin rush that causes most of the stupid accidents I read about. I guess I had the good fortune to learn a lesson w/ the only dammage to my ears.

Love the picture seaweaver. How did the gun go off? did you hit the trigger? what about the safety?

leadlum,
I changed hands to free the gun hand for my camera and the most comfortable grip was a left hand firing position. The gun fired as if I was firing from the hip.I need to review both shooting practices. I really enjoy getting outdoor pictures and I took three prior to making this kill but tripped a night exposure switch so they are a wash.
I have mental check lists for most dangerous things I do and I have a basic proceedure list for most gun handling scenerios but I need review post shots.
I'd also like to find a high megapixel camera eye that attaches to my hat or glasses.

O'Tay, I get it, It was a joke! I was thinking NEW PRODUCT.
A google search on robo eye will get you...ROBO-EYE is a portable license plate number recognition system ideal for contemporary road patrol and covert operations.

Thanks Henry. The gun is sweet and I've only glimpsed the capabilities of it. I'll need to find some game worthy of the caliber which means out of state or into the fresh water swamps for 300lb. hogs.

It's not political.. must be OK! We'er just beginning to dry up after about a week of gloom here. I see most of the west coast has a soaker comming on. I try to carry my digital every where and I shoot ever thing. My old unit was two years old when it died and I got over 3K pics with it. The new ones taking time to master as it's alot fancier. It has this darn night exposure lever right next to the power button. I washed two pics of three sows grazing together before my shot. You can spen $120 and get a camera that is 3x better than my last and it will make you very happy.. untill you forget proper safty guidlines for a photo op.

Digital is very nice, just take a bunch of pictures and hope one turns out well. Something I plan on doing more of, get some photographic evidence of various bullet performance.
